but I'd argue any scene where a woman exposes her breast-surgery scars can't be a comedy.

I'll call your surgery scars with Craig T. Nelson eating hash brownies, and raise you with the numerous "cherry popping" jokes.

I stand by comedy.

ok, the scene with the pregnant older sister where she is watching the old christmas movie and just starts sobbing hysterically?
i was ballinggggggg. what is wrong with you guys?

there's more to do than in the sticks when it comes to good places to eat, art, culture, people to meet and sex, and *&^% happens there more often.

and boston rules.

jsia.

actually i'm kinda of into the country rural scene...  trying hard to avoid boston & philly because of major drawbacks: exes. same reason i ruled chicago out from the start.

:D

Maybe everyone around us was laughing because we were laughing.  We tend to laugh at things that most people don't find funny.

Like when we went to see Dawn of the Dead.  Everyone else was scared and we were laughing hysterically.

out of curiosity, did you see the exorcism of emily rose?
i'm dying to see it but i'm really chicken.
i still can't even catch a glimpse of 'The Ring' without freaking out.

Maybe 5 funny moments in the whole movie (all in the previews).  Still a great movie, but ridiculously depressing.... everyone in the theater was crying practically the whole way through!

seconded.
i cried during it.
come onnnn, the part with SJP's christmas gift / reaction of rachel mcadams.
dinner scene with Thad.
sad *&^% i tell you.

I didn't think it was sad at all!  I thought it was hysterical!

i expected it to be a comedy... but all the funny parts were included in the previews... normally i'm not a crier... but i just needed a good cry yesterday. it was good though

The new Sarah Jessica Parker one, "Family Stone."  I'm not using the names, because then some of the lurkers may know exactly who I'm talking about.

In it, SJP plays a very highly strung, neurotic Wall Street banker who I believe is also a Wharton grad.  (M. wasn't Wharton, but the other adjectives still apply.)  SJP's fiancee then falls for her prettier, younger sister during Christmas, leaving her once again, with no one.

The worst part is, she saw it on a first date with a new person...

i saw that yesterday. i really liked it.... i cried a lot for some reason.

Not to mention stupid.

Why would you want to marry someone who obviously doesn't want to marry you?

to directly quote my ex-roommate:
"Chrissy, why would i get my Masters? i'm P R E T T Y ! ... "
ha. smart girl. saaaaaaaaad.

It would be interesting to see who does better financially - women who get graduate degrees or those who don't, and by financially I mean household!

it would also be interesting to rate the quality of lives......
at least for me, i would need more than a husband's paycheck to feel successful.
then again, for my ex-roommate, she wouldn't need more than a Lexus from her hubby to feel successful.
it's all "relative".....
