Law School Applications / chances ruined by county college grades
« on: November 16, 2005, 01:50:16 PM »
my situation is this: i have a 3.38 gpa from my degree granting school which i attended for 3 years, i was awarded highest honors by my history department and my honors thesis was named the best in my particular graduting class. i also had a year immediately before that from a county college where i made the dean's list, but before that my first year out of high school i had bunch of c's and f's because i was a stupid 18 year old and my girlfriend at the time lived across the street from the college and i went to her house instead of going to class.
i have a 174 lsat and i believe i would be competitve with my degree granting gpa and that lsat at some lower tier 1 schools. but with my bad county college grades my cum gpa is only 3.04. i was so depressed by this. i know i have no one to blame but myself for those bad grades but they are also not a reflection of my abilities and they are from 8 years ago.
what do people think? am i screwed?
