So just mattresses then?  Or are they all futon sofas?

Wow, you must really like kids.

Because otherwise, she wouldn't have bought futons and would have made them sleep on the floor?

Either that or because she has 4!

Four isn't that many.  Which is easy for me to say since I don't have any.  ;)

Why not beds?

Some people actually want to become public defenders, you know.  :P

Not you!  Because you can't afford to be one.

I don't want something because I can't have it?

Actually, that would probably be a good rule to live by.

I think I could get by on $32k actually.

Things I did today:

1) Skimmed hundreds of pages of reading I should have done weeks ago to complete my Florida State law school degree
2) Reviewed sad excuse for class notes that I took as a student at Penn State Law
3) Looked around in despair at sad state of apartment located right in the heart of my college town, Charlottesville, Virgina since I'm a UVa law student
4) Kicked myself for being such a slacker since no one else here at UCLA Law is such a slacker

:-\

Did I get one correct?

Actually, you got all four of them correct.  Congratulations.

Also, I hit 600 in my post count.  At least I accomplished something noteworthy.  :-\

Ouch. Public defender's office at $32k, here I come!

You can do better.  What's your undergrad degree? How old are you?

Better.  ::)

...

I will be a biglaw summer associate- but I understand the difficulties in the market. I expect salaries to drop from $160k to $125-$145 before I actually start, which may not be until January 2011. I may get a Tax LLM (can do with one extra semester) while I wait.

Do you think they'll actually fall, especially that much?

Depending on the firm, they already have.  http://abovethelaw.com/salary_cuts/

Hmm... I did not glean your conclusion about doc review from that wikipedia page.  But I think the general definition of "the practice of law" would allow a paralegal--supervised by a lawyer--to review documents.  It will depend on the state, so review of the case law and criminal statutes of a particular state would be most useful.  As an anecdote, I worked with a paralegal who reviewed documents for privilege (a legal issue, similar to reviewing for relevancy).  Presumably, this was not the practice of law in that state.

I guess I'm only even somewhat familiar with what people do in my state.
