Hmmm.  Maybe I should reevaluate my lifestyle expectations.

I expect to live like a student for at least 5 years post grad. Even if my firm gives me and offer and recovers well from the crisis, I won't feel safe living large until I'm debt free and have at least one year's living expenses as a nest egg.

Easy to say now.  When I call you in six years, I bet it'll be all "where did all my money go?"

2) I was being sarcastic, facetious and/or kind of a jerk.  It's a thing I do.

Surely you don't think I drop eggs out my window, do you?

Lawyers have to wait about five years before firms stop caring about the name on the diploma and start looking at actual productivity and results.

Right, but you won't be able to show much in the way of "results" when your experience consists of insurance defense or document review- even if you are the best doc reviewer that ever existed.

Unless the non-biglaw lawyer is doing temp attorney doc review, he/she will probably have more opportunity to show "results" than a biglaw associate after 5 years.  This will depend on the person and the firm, of course.

Haha, I was not surprised when I just saw who posted this brilliant, "articulate" thread:;topicseen

I almost forgot about this thread.  How can we possibly discuss whether lawyers are smarter than doctors when we haven't figured out the far more important question of whether or not chicks in law school are hotter than chicks in other professional/grad schools?

Which is nothing.

LOL that this is the "worst thread ever."  In fact, it's so bad that you have to follow it closely and periodically post in it just to make show everybody knows how little the opinions expressed here matter to you.

Oh, no, at this point I think the thread has jumped the shark and started to become amazing. I hope it doesn't end anytime soon.

I am posting this quote to show you I am completely, totally and utterly indifferent to your perspectives and opinions.  In fact, I didn't even read the above quote.  I didn't even look at it.  I'm not 100% sure it's even yours because I refuse to spend even 0.5 s of my life to make sure.

I didn't even notice the post and I do not care what you think.  Please take this post as proof of that.

And I'm going to drop these eggs out my window to demonstrate that the laws of gravity have been suspended in and around my apartment building.

10. $360k, roughly.  Woah.  :(

10. About $250k

Hmmm.  Maybe I should reevaluate my lifestyle expectations.

I have to wonder, because it seems like everything has to be a competition.  Who cares if we're smarter than doctors or engineers?  ::)

I meant the dollar figures I gave in response to your questions.
