Choosing the Right Law School / Oh Crap! Boalt Financial Aid Question
« on: February 23, 2006, 06:38:32 PM »
Okay, so I think I went brain dead when filling out the application for Boalt and forgot to to include the last page regarding financial aid- if I am accepted, does that mean that filling out the FAFSA is a waste of time with Boalt for the first year?  Do I need that filled out to get any sort of financial help from anyone?

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / UCLA Ding

Ouch, it's finally official- as a February 10, 2006 I can no longer hold out hope to be a Bruin.  :'(

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know how admissions directors view college Mock Trial participants- especially those who competed and won awards regionally and nationally- when making decisions?  Does it help anymore or less than other "soft factors" when making decisions, or in boosting a lower LSAT?

Choosing the Right Law School / Financial Aid and Acceptances
« on: February 09, 2006, 09:36:45 AM »
Ok, this will probably sound like s stupid question, but here it goes:

I received two financial aid postcards- one from USD, the other from UCLA- both stating that my financial aid info (FAFSA, etc) must be in before I was notified of acceptance.

So here's the question- do I have to get this stuff in before they send my my acceptance/rejection, or is this just their ploy to get the info in ASAP?  I know it sounds like a dumb question, but they are the only two schools I have applied to that have mentioned this at all.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Anybody else seeing a huge delay with the UC Hastings Status Check website- Mine has said "Application Complete- Ready for Review" since December 14.  Should I be worried?!?!?

Okay, just heard from USF via e-mail: what's the word on San Francisco; I've heard it's pretty much a bay area school, with little potential to transfer around the California market.  I'm not really too familiar with their strengths or weaknesses, either- but I love San Francisco, so I had to apply.  Anybody hear anything good or bad about USF law school?

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / In at McGeorge- thoughts, anyone?

Got my packet from McGeorge at the University of the PAcific in Sacramento today- what do people think of the school, its reputation, programs, etc?

How's the campus- I've only been there at night and couldn't really see much.

When/how do you hear from the following CA schools?  All pps are listed as complete around early-mid january:

Also, what are peoples' opinions on McGeorge at UoP?

Choosing the Right Law School / What are my chances? 157/3.73
« on: November 03, 2005, 04:30:48 PM »
I scored a 157 and have a 3.73- extracurriculars include 3 years college mock trial and 2 years working for a family law attorney.  PS and LORs will be (hopefully) well-written.

I'm applying in California only:
UC Berkeley
UC Davis
UC Hastings
Santa Clara

What do people think are my chances of getting into a UC?  And is Stanford completely hopeless?
