Visits, Admit Days, and Open Houses / Re: What to wear for a visit
« on: February 26, 2009, 04:00:32 PM »
I went on a tour today. Business casual is definitely the way to go. The kid in the full suit looked like they were trying too hard. The kid in sloppy jeans and a tee...looked sloppy. I'm glad I read this post for reassurance.

Visits, Admit Days, and Open Houses / Visit/ Meeting with Admissions
« on: February 25, 2009, 07:22:23 AM »
I'm visiting a school I was waitlisted at. I'm taking the tour and everyone in the tour meets with someone in the admissions office. What is appropriate to wear? When I visited for undergrad at this institution everyone was very casual but I would like to make an effort. I have not interviewed since undergrad. Any advice on things they will ask/ I should ask? Thanks so much!

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Wake Forest & Tulane

Thanks for the great info! I too found the starting salary difference striking..although a lot of Tulane grads practice in NYC so they need the better salaries to afford the living costs. I honestly don't know where I want to practice. I'm from PA and I wouldn't say either school has an outright advantage in my state. I'm really hoping to get $ from one of the schools to make my decision easier.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Widener?

I know a few successful Widener grads...one in a mid-size firm in Philly and another at a mid-size firm in Jersey. Both drive luxury vehicles and seem to be living the life. It is your decision but I wouldn't take Widener as a career death sentence. I would describe both as very driven, type-A's so I'm sure that helped them out a lot too.

Thanks for the input! Just curious, did you find one school to be better than the other in terms of aid/scholarships?

ONU has a strong alumni network in Ohio and Pennsylvania(I think they may actually have more lawyers in PA).
