Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Loyola Law
« on: April 08, 2004, 05:32:04 PM » isn't really something I'm considering as of now, I am just going to go to the best school I get accepted to.  If nobody else has the common sense to accept me, I will be headed for Loyola as well. I know it has a fantastic reputation in the LA area, but I wanted the options available by going to a more national school.  When I visited the campus, I hated it...a huge parking structure and a campus enclosed by an ugly grey wall.  There didn't seem to be any sense of community at all.  Also, as an Angelino native, I'm truly ready to leave SoCal.

I have a 3.53 and a 161...I called Vandy yesterday.  They said that they had made a decision the day before and sent out the letter.  I'm in Cali, so it's going to take a few days to get it.  I'm expecting a ding, but you never know! *crossing fingers*  The only person I know who got in had a 3.73 and a 163.

3.53 GPA from UC Irvine, 161 LSAT (Dec. '03)

Accepted: Loyola (CA), Hawaii, Santa Clara
Rejected: Boalt, U of Washington, GTown, GW, Texas, NYU)
Pending: UCLA, USC, Fordham, UC Hastings, UC Davis, Vandy, Boston College and BU

Please, oh please let me into the first tier!

I was an auto-admit for Loyola. 3.53 from UC Irvine, 161 LSAT.  I was kind of surprised to get a decision so quickly, seeing as Loyola's numbers have been skyrocketing in recent years. I am crossing my fingers for an acceptance into the first tier (UCLA, USC, UC Hastings, UC Davis, Fordham, Boston College and U), but after 6 rejections in a row (Boalt, U of Washington, GW, GTown, Texas, NYU) I am losing hope.  I would suggest sending a letter to the admissions office, reaffirming your interest in the school and letting them know that it is your first choice.  It couldn't hurt, right?

I am in the same boat as you...I have a 161 LSAT and a 3.53 GPA.  I have been accepted to Loyola (CA), Santa Clara, and Hawaii.  I know I should be grateful that I got into a few schools so far, but I was really expecting to go to a first-tier school.  I am still waiting on 8 more (Vandy, Hastings, Davis, UCLA, USC, Fordham, Boston College and U), but 6 rejections in a row (Boalt, NYU, GTOWN, GW, Texas, U of Washington) has really shattered my confidence.  Any advice for me as well? ???
