I'm no girl. I like targus.
I'm a girl... and I have a targus backpack. I could care less about how nice my laptop bag looks, as long as its functional and easy to carry.
Purses, on the other hand... I'm all about Coach.

i finally have some downtime at work to goof off. excited isn't the right word for me. it's anxious. i can hardly go to sleep and i wake up in the middle of the night.
but i totally dig school.
Ahh... anxiety. It's a wonderful feeling.
But yeah - school has been interesting (fun even) so far. My brain has been getting quite a wake-up call!

Is everyone "excited" about classes starting tomorrow? (I think I've been asked this question by everyone on the planet)
I've been working on reading/briefing this weekend... whew. Hopefully this stuff will go faster as the weeks go by. I'm glad that the cases have been interesting so far, at least.

I'm an evening student too... full time work (8:30-5), classes 4 days a week (6-10pm 3 days, 6-7:15 one day).
I'm going to Loyola in Los Angeles.

do you know how the LRW professors are assigned for the evening division? i saw three on the schedule.
No - maybe they'll address that during orientation?

Section 1 here...
I didn't really look at your schedule? How is it? You have Scheckter for Property, right? I've heard good things about him.
Pretty cool if you don't mind waking up late and getting out late, we start at 10-11 but end at 4-5.
I heard good things about Hull and Schechter, no one knows the other 2.
Yeah, I have Schechter for property as well. I heard he gives difficult exams, but he's a great prof.
I have Selmi for Torts and Lawrence for Contracts. (I'm evening division)

I was also considering getting a Lenovo Thinkpad X60s or the Sony Vaio TX770P. I'm looking for something that's light, with a great battery life, and I've heard the X60s has both - but I'm a little turned off by the fact it doesn't have a DVD/CD drive (unless you buy the docking station, which is not something I'm interesting in doing). I have a desktop at home, so I guess it won't be that big a deal... but I'm really unsure about it. Also, there's the fact that my boyfriend now works for Sony, so we get a discount on their merchandise (though I'm not sure how good of a discount). My bf has a Vaio that had a lot of problems... but it's about 5 years old, so I'm hoping quality's improved since then.
But my opinions aside, which would you guys choose - Sony or Lenovo?

I think the orientation starts on Aug. 15th.
Yeah, I found it on the blog earlier today and called the admissions people to confirm times... for evening students it should be 5-9 or 10pm on Tuesday, then 6-9 wednesday and thursday. I hope the financial aid stuff gets finalized soon... I sent everything in to them and am just awaiting a response...
But anyway, thanks for the response

Does anyone know when orientation is? I didn't see it on the Loyola site... (I'm hoping their "1L reg book" will be up soon)

My official financial aid letter was not correct! What's up with that? It didn't show my scholarship, nor did they include my estimated child-care expenses, even though I sent them a letter and a statement from the day care center showing my costs.
I am getting really sick of the financial aid office actually. They have not been very helpful. First I called to get a new copy of my estimated award letter and after a week, I still hadn't gotten it. I called again and they never sent it. Then, I emailed them a question and they never responded. Then, I sent them the letter and statement about day care and asked them to contact me to let me know that they had processed it. They never did. I called them to follow up and they said that they would process it when they sent out the official award letter. Obviously they didn't. Then, I called to say that my official award letter was wrong and they told me to email the necessary corrections. I emailed and asked them to either write back or call to let me know they had re-processed it. Still no call or email. If I haven't heard anything by next week I am going to raise hell. This is rediculous!
I hadn't heard that about the disbursments...that would be horrible. I was under the impression that disbursments come sometime around the beginning of the semester.
Yeah, they haven't been very prompt about responding to my e-mails either... but I've been fairly successful with getting questions answered when I call them.
I read somewhere that grad plus disbursements would come later than other loans...? Maybe I'm wrong though, I'll try to look it up!
