The place hasn't yet figured out the tickets-for-beer system.  I'm anxiously looking forward to it.

I bet drinks on skiball yesterday.  I forgot how fun skiball can be.  I mean, it's really a fun time.

Where should I go next fall? / Re: Penn State v. Pitt HELP!

If you prefer Western PA over Central - Pitt.  That's about all there is to it.

ION: I went to a tea party rally!  Sort of nuts.  At the mention of Obama, I heard an old lady yell "DIE!".   :o :D ::) :-\  <-- I felt those all at the same time.

God damn tea party people making my party look crazy.

Although the left has their fair share of crazies too

TBH, a lot of the speakers and people there were simply reasonable concerned citizens.  But the nutballs stood out.  Oh, did they stand out.

ION: When I went to pay my taxes, I found an old undeposited work check from last August.  Score!

Do you have to get a new one? Some places put restrictions on checks, saying something like they need to be deposited within 6 months to be valid (or some crap like that).

I was wondering this, but the check went through fine.

Thank you anonymous individual who flashed their brights at me right before I went through a speed trap and saved me from a speeding ticket.

you welcome.

If I was able to triangulate your location, I'd give you a hug.

I thought that I was doing pretty well in my NCAA bracket.  In the end... I didn't even pick a conference right in the final four.  Pretty sure no money's coming my way.

Knowing that I might get a response in time, I'm putting out an opinion question.

I have to attend an accepted students dinner this evening.  It's being hosted by current students, and my fiance cannot come.  I tend to be very shy in these kinds of situations, so I want to bring a friend and pretend he's my cousin.

Is this kind of wrong?

I'd bring your friend and just say he's your friend, but it looks like I'm late. What did you wind up doing?

I brought him and said he was my cousin.  The funniest thing was that we were both wearing flannel and jeans that day and went straight from work to the event.  We looked like such hipsters.

I felt like I had to fib a little because the event was at a relatively pricey restaurant and the invite was a little weird.  They encouraged you to bring a guest, but discouraged parents and did not exactly say friends should come.  The invite pretty much said "bring your spouse, partner or significant other."  Ultimately about half the people RSVPed yes and did not come, so it didn't matter at all.

Awesome plan.  When you start school there next fall, everyone's going to think that you married your cousin  ;) ;)
