As a Mercer applicant myself, I can say congratulations! =)

So here's the deal...
I didn't do so well first semester at my school and I basically hate it here (which is why I want to transfer). I am getting my butt into gear and am working on doing so much better this semester - I obviously have to.
I want to go to a school that accepted me last year, but my idiotic self decided not to go there. However, this school is higher ranked than the one that I am at - will this play a factor? And also how would I present myself to the school? I can't just say that I hate everything about it here and want to get out as soon as possible.
Thoughts please! Thanks in advance
busting your ass, rataking, going to a better school, and saving $100k debt in the longrun is the preferable option.
Maybe it's best to hedge your bets? Study Hard for the lsat now, and see if you're consistantly scoring in the high 160s by the time decision time comes around. If you Are doing a lot better, maybe consider postponing school for another year. Just a thought.
That said, you're probably already looking at some decent money from Illinos (which everyone who attends loves loves loves)
I would definitely retake. A high 160s score would get you some full rides. As is, you will likely pay full tuition at anything other than a low ranked school.
