Transferring / Re: T4 transfer to T2/T1
« on: April 09, 2009, 03:13:06 PM »
Nice advice fellas, but I think my original question was misunderstood.

I was wondering if transferring is worth the time and energy, given my particular circumstance, i.e., job lined up after graduation, and potentially moving to the civilian sector after I'm done with JAG (granted I want to leave)?  It sounds like school reputation never hurts and only really matters in what type of practice someone is involved in.

I'm aware of what it takes to make that transfer happen, though I think its beyond the scope of what I'm trying to figure out at this time

I'm in a similar situation.  I plan on attending a T4 next fall as a 1L and am considering transferring.

However, I've been accepted into Officer Candidate School with the Marine Corps under a law contract, which guarantees a position as a Judge Advocate once I graduate law school and pass the bar.  With this gig lined up, it really doesn't matter what school I go to.

As I consider my employment prospects after my service obligation if I do leave the USMC, I have a feeling that my school's reputation will follow me into the civilian sector (private and government).  Is this feeling on mark?  With that, would a transfer to a T1/2 be worth the trouble?

Where should I go next fall? / Re: Univ of San Fransisco - Status checker

Yeah it does.  It seems that some guys are getting emails of acceptance prior to receiving their letters in the mail.  And others don't receieve an email at all.  I haven't received an email... so am hoping for the best.

My USF status checker says "Decision Rendered". Does anyone else have a similar one, or did anyone else's say this when they got an acceptance letter? I've heard that some receive acceptances through email and others through snail mail.

I submitted my FAFSA two weeks ago, and reviewed my SAR online.  Here's my question:  How soon after submitting my FAFSA do the schools I list on it receive my SAR (or any other relevant information)?  Should I contact the financial aid offices directly?  Basically, I need to delete some schools in order to make room for some additional school codes.

Know anything about Florida?

Acceptances / Resident Status and Tuition

I have a question that I would like to have verified by public opinion.  Can I consider myself a resident of a certain state after completing one year of school,i.e., pay nonresident tuition first year, then pay resident tuition second and third year?  I know the answer may be obvious.

Like everyone else, I've noticed some differences in my LSAC GPA and UG GPA.  For the record, which one should I use when filling out applications?  Do law AdComs look unfavorably if there are any discrepencies on my application?
