Yeah, my younger brother called At the Drive In obscure the other day.  (6 year age difference.)  I didn't realize that he didn't realize that At the Drive In were huge when I was in high school, then they broke up.

Then again, people our age have no idea about some contemporary bands.

i don't mind posting my info, too.  it's not bragging if you didn't do that well.

I've had 2 callbacks, no news.  One told me I should hear in October.  The other didn't say anything.  I have several more callbacks, but it looks like the offer wait is almost as slow as the callback wait.

I'm trying not to sweat it.  I'm young, the economy will improve.  An orchard will bloom.

Transferring to Yale doesn't automatically guarantee you more success at OCI, despite what some people in this thread seem to believe.  We have an individual who transferred to Yale.  I recently spoke to him.  He didn't do very well at their OCI.

He's a really nice kid, and I have absolutely nothing against him (I even went to his Regents farewell party), but I would wager that he overbid at OCI.  He probably wanted a few select DC firms that were hard to get no matter where you went to school.

(Although correct me if I'm wrong, and I agree with seatochitown that he'll probably get CoA clerkship before BigLaw, anyway.)

Nah, the city.

Sort of a combo of cute college town + ritzy suburb.  Think Newton MA + Ann Arbor + University City minus the ghetto parts.

In other news, I'M GOING TO THE PAVEMENT REUNION SHOW.  Not that half of you have a f-ing clue what I'm talking about.

You've gotta be kidding me.  This is Pavenment, not Sunny Day Real Estate or some other long lost indie band.  Everyone knows who they are, even Stotan, I bet.

That's good.  Gotta sell interest in city.  Will tell them that.

Nah, the city.

Good story.  But she's pretty lucky, considering her talents.  iBanking is safer/more realistic, obviously, for the overwhelming majority of people.

I've been utterly unimpressed by the restaurants I've seen so far this recruiting season.

lol at the notion of a firm wasting money on resturants.  At my v50 callback, we got a small buffet and a fruit plate.

Can anyone tell me anything about Princeton?  Interview there on Tuesday.

I just ate at a restaurant in which my dessert featured yogurt sponge.

Law is awesome if you are on LR at a top school.

Fixed it for ya.

I heard a rumor that Mortara sets the median at 174.  He aims to separate the future CoA clerks from the posers.  Many people earn 173-5s, and a few hit 185s.

I assume that job searches are going well, considering almost every 2011 student in this thread is on Law Review.  Just don't take it for granted; it's a blessing.  I just had an interview with a firm that clearly had no intention of hiring me, so much so that I didn't interview with a single partner.

I heard the clerkship market was "brutal."  Good to know U of C carries weight.
