Current Law Students / Differences in law?
« on: December 23, 2011, 06:34:21 AM »

I'm not a current law school student so I was wondering if anyone could help me by clarifying the difference between business law and transactional law? I know what transactional law is but is it the same as business law or related. What about corporate law? Also, would I say I want to specialize in transactional law or just become a transactional lawyer? Or am I just totally wrong altogether? Please help, thank you very much!

Studying for the LSAT / Re: Just wanted to confirm testing regulations...

Thank you for your informative help. My first test was taken in Feb. 2009 so I would have no problem signing up for the June 2011 LSAT right? I just don't want to study again for the test and find out that I am unable to take it again.

So let's say I exacerbated all three LSAT test taking chances with the the third one taken in Feb. 2010. Since the rule is that no exams can be taken within two years, the next time that I would be able to take the exam would be in Feb. 2012 correct? Also, law schools would look upon this negatively right?

Just making sure that I'm understanding the rules correctly. Thank you for your help!

So I received my December score and don't feel quite satisfied so I've already signed up for the February LSAT. Should I hand in my apps right now and ask admissions to keep it on hold for the Feburary score or should I just wait and submit my apps after I receive my February score? I know adcoms don't look at the apps till it's complete so is there some kind of advantage of submitting apps now and have them hold onto it as opposed to submitting it after I receive the February score?

Also, how do I even indicate that I want my apps to be held for the Feburary score anyways? The apps don't have a box to check off, that's why.

How do you diagram the first two?

Is is F-> G or G->F or F<->G?
Second too: for K and M?

The third statement is the double not arrow correct?

Choosing the Right Law School / Where can I get in with a 160/2.82?

I plan on applying for the Fall 2010 school year. I know, my cum. GPA sucks, my degree granting GPA is 3.00. I live in NYC and would like to go to law school here but it's not a must. No chance at T14 right? Can I apply for the top 50 schools from the list of top 100 best law schools? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You're white, aren't you? That's such a white guy thing to say. Oh, there are other Asians besides Chinese, duh.

How hard is it to get off a waitlist? Also, is the waitlist random or is there an order to the waitlist?

I just tagged that, I'll be using that when I become a 1L. Thanks!

This thread became a UM/tier 2 debate, all because of my one question! SORRY!

If I end up going to UM, I would be just settling but no matter where I attend, I want to transfer out of there. I know, no guarantees but worth a shot right? What are some non-private schools that are good? I live in NYC...
