I'm gonna have to concur, American all the way. STCL is not even the best school in it's own city, where you also have to compete with UT, UH, SMU, Baylor grads.
At least with American you may be able to find employment with the name, even though it is not necessarily the strongest school in the DC area, you're better off going there.

I just got into SMU PT, and am wondering if you had any good advice about how to succeed at SMU academically, as well as how the employment prospects for your class are looking given the current state of the economy.

Right, there is only one application online, but you can check the box for Full-Time and Part-Time, which is what I did, but you can also just click one and thus be considered for only the box that you checked on the application.

159 and a 3.66 and I haven't heard anything and I applied in late october, then got "held for further review" 01/29/09.
LSN showed that someone got in with a 3.58 and a 159 so I like your chances...
Got my acceptance call today
Congrats! Did you apply only to PT? I applied to both FT & PT.

I think because Tulane is a private school, it teaches primarily common law, and I think you can choose to study civil law but it's not required like at LSU. Congrats on the acceptance!

How long ago did you send in the applications? I also applied to Houston(pt) and SMU with similar numbers. I'm not a Texas resident (not sure if that is a disadvantage. I applied in February though, hope that doesn't hurt my chances.
I applied in mid/late october...got "held for further review" at SMU, and then my status said "Hold" at U of H so I told them to just hold my application anyways until I took the February LSAT and then I got a higher score and am waiting to hear back from them.
