Law School Applications / Cornell article about law school apps this year

I know there's a thread about the number of apps being down, but I am lazy. I thought some people here might find this interesting:

Law School Applications / Fordham "Pended"
« on: January 30, 2006, 07:06:39 PM »
So it says this for me now:

Application Received: 12/05/05
Current Status: Complete  (application is under review)
Decision: Pended  (application has been reviewed and a final decision has not yet been made)

Am I waitlisted? What does that mean? I have not received an e-mail from them telling me I've been waitlisted.

I know a lot of schools say a computer is not required and all, but I think a lot of people on here are planning on bringing a laptop to class with them. When I went to an open house, I walked past one classroom and noticed all the students had laptops in front of them.

How essential is it, though, to have a laptop in class with you? I have an older Dell and a Mac...but because my Dell is heavy and annoyingly loud and a lot of schools seem to favor windows...I was considering getting some kind of PC before I spent more money I want to know if it's really better to have a laptop, even if the school doesn't require it.
