I have also heard 3.80 -- I am 2L at UT. There is not a strict cut-off.
Having a 3.8 does not guarantee being on law review though... as you mentioned, there is still a write-on. 2

U of Texas - Austin / Re: My favorite place in Austin ...« on: August 23, 2006, 08:07:18 PM »Maggie Maes is incredibly overpriced -- but has an awesome rooftop deck overlooking sixth with a great view of Austin skyline. yeah -- you are right -- i haven't been drinking on the east coast perhaps "incredibly overpriced with respect to their next door neighbors" is more appropriate i also like logans (also not cheap) but they have some HUGE beers and show some great clips on the videos every 15 minutes or so.. last time i was there the Dos Equis girls were there, so we had free dos! 6
