Got rejected from Alabama yesterday. Not surprised, just a little disappointed. Got into St. Mary's today, good to have that one acceptance underway. But I also got waitlisted at LSU... which really has me worried about Ole Miss- which is my first choice.
This process ain't fun..

Well, I got in somewhere! Not too far away from Houston either, so I can visit and see what it's like. So now I am 1-1-1 ... with the tie being a wait-list (LSU).

Waitlisted -- letter said they will re-evaluate and let me know in April. And that I should feel free to supplement my application in any way possible.
This application cycle is turning out to be a major bummer for me...

Not surprised... but a little disappointed I didn't at least hear back from a safety first. And man, did I get rejected pretty quickly or what??... ouch haha.
0-1 on the season, 9 more to play.

So basically I just need someone to reaffirm my realistic expectations. My application status went to "Decision Mailed." I am below their LSAT, and my GPA is at the median. I'd like to think I wrote amazing essays and have great LOR's... but that's so hard to compare across the board. They were all from prof's who knew me very well. I have 1 years work experience and was super involved in undergrad.
But, I know I got rejected... right? Although it seems a little cruel to send out rejections this soon -- and no one LSN from last year got rejected this soon either. So I am confused.
Anyone gotten a rejection from Bama yet?? This is going to be a long day at work -- hopefully, the decision is in the mailbox when I get home and I don't have to wait all week.

I just thought I'd start a thread and see who all is applying to Ole Miss for the 2006 Cycle.
For those applying, what made you apply? Have you visited? What kind of law do you want to do, and where do you want to practice?
I love Oxford, MS ... amazing place. And really like the Ole Miss campus. Hopefully it will all work -- but we'll see.. I know they won't start sending out decisions until January, so there's still a month or 2 to wait.

Alright... I sent out my applications, and I'm one of those kids that did something stupid and got a P.I. in college. I wrote in the addendums and explained that I got a ticket and paid the fine, etc etc. I'm not worried about that.
However, a school emailed me and needed more information about the incident. I decided to go ahead and call up the Police Jurisdiction to get the exact write-up and detailed report regarding the incident so I could get the street name where we were ticketed, time of incident, name of officer, etc etc. Just to be completely thorough so it doesn't look like I'm hiding something.
Well -- I call them (Police Dept) and they have nothing under my name. No criminal report or incident report. I know PI is a Class C Misdemeanor, and we were only ticketed and not arrested -- but shouldn't there be something?? I paid the fine at the Court House and "Pled No Lo Contendre." I wouldn't think it would just disappear.
I still sent the information regarding the incident to the best of my knowledge (i.e. saying around 2am, at a place located 2 blocks from campus, name of bar, etc) but am perplexed the Police Department just has nothing on file. Is this not unusual?

Has anybody else applied to LSU or Tennessee and not had their LSDAS report requested?
I applied via LSAC online (LSU) and on the UT website on 10/04 and still haven't had a request from either. It's been almost a month and I'm kind of getting worried.

I am from Texas, and know that Univ of Texas Law harps big-time on being from in-state. I don't have the stats to go there, and actually want to practice in the South East (have fam from the South and what not, and just like the region/markets a lot). I'm just not sure how much of a disadvantage I'll be at if I apply out-of-state.
Here's my stats: 3.42 UGPA and a 157 LSAT
Here's where I'm thinking about applying:
Reaches-- Tennessee, Alabama, SMU
Targets -- LSU, Ole Miss, UF, USC (So. Carol)
Safety -- St. Mary's, Samford
Does this seem like a pretty good and accurate list? Considering my stats and out-of-state status at most of them?
