Also, do LORs stay in the LSAC system? Could I use the same ones if I reapplied next year or would I have to resend them? That would make me feel bad to ask my profs to rewrite them when they JUST wrote them two months ago.
Your LORs will still be available to resend via your LSAC account if you decide to reapply. I think they keep them for a few years, but I'm unsure of the specifics. You could probably use the same ones again, but I'd check with the particular school about whether they want new info or not before you go ahead with app #2 (if you decide to).

some interesting combos on here. i'd say yale ug/ hls (most likely) means i'm one very lucky girl. and that 4 years of losing "the game" was enough.
"the game"?
sorry, perhaps a bit cryptic. the yale/ harvard football game. if i recall correctly, yale '05 was the first class to ever graduate w/o having won it at least once in 4 years.

I just got my financial aid award from HLS... $14k in grants for the year, and I guess I'll have to re-apply each year. I think this is fairly good news, so I'm withdrawing from NYU and Columbia
congrats, pb. i got a pretty nice grant offer from hls too, so i guess they're not quite as stingy as i was led to believe (at least, not always).

As tempted as I've been to try giving them a ring myself, based on previous efforts that have been posted about on the board, I think it would be a big waste of time at this point in the game (as, it seems, most others do as well).

fwiw, I've met 2-3 people at the hls admit weekend who didn't apply to YLS.
As did I. I actually think it's fairly common.
