Oh I feel smart now; I'm pretty sure I figured it out. Anyway, good luck to everyone anxiously waiting for the big call today. Hopefully I'll be congratulating you all soon.
I'm not sure if actually figured it out or not, but I hope you don't post your idea publicly on this thread, to prevent the little bird from either being exposed, or falsely confused with any other possibilities and rumors being created.
of course not.

How long did it take you all to get your financial aid package?
I got mine e-mailed to me on 3/9, and they marked the last of my forms rec'd about a month before that. EDITed to add that my forms were in before they started sending fin. aid. package info out to anyone, so it might not take a full month from submission to decision anymore.

sorry, dw! glad your wait is over though.
still in purgatory here..
thanks; i'm cool with it. i'm about 95% harvard-decided already, and i probably wouldn't have gone to S even if i'd been accepted at this point. good luck to those still waiting, though.
Are you goign to send a letter of continued interest to Mich?
um, no. i actually thought about it when i first got the hold/deferral e-mail, but when i tried to figure out what i would say, i realized everything they really needed to know was included in my app. i don't like feeling like i'm being played, and that's how mich makes me feel.

I'm out, and I couldn't be happier to have the waiting over with (though I wouldn't have minded a different ending).

I got a "still under review" e-mail in mid-feb., but I'm still waiting on a final decision and have been complete since 12/20.

Hmm, very interesting. I still haven't heard a peep from NU on the fin aid front, and I had all of my paperwork in almost two months ago. Guess I know not to expect much at this point.

e-mail from penn telling me i don't qualify for need-based aid. somewhat surprising considering the rather generous grant offer i got from harvard. anyone care to speculate if this means there won't be any merit scholarships coming my way (from penn, that is)?
