this happened to me when i applied to master's programs--NYU sent me a letter from the registrar about usernames/passwords and how to register.  two days later got an email saying "sorry, the welcome from the registrar doesn't necessarily mean you were accepted, although you could have been.  please wait for the letter from the admissions office for official notice."  then the very next day i got an official acceptance in hard copy...so give the letter only the credibility it deserves, but no more.

I was shocked, shocked, shocked, to get a 180.  I didn't bother looking through the post-mortems, because I didnt trust my memory well enough.  Also, the right answers to the harder questions tend to rely on the difference between one word--the language becomes critical.  So it may not be useful to do that.

Other than that, though, I felt confident about the more contested questions--the law firm question, children's handwriting.  I missed only 1 question on the RC about African-American ministers.  Study pays off!

Not only did the update field change to 10/24/05, but under administration was changed from "10/24/05" to "October 2005."
