2L job search / Re: Too late for Biglaw?

I know several people who have between 0 and 2 callbacks at T14 at firms all the way down the AmLaw200.  It's hard out there these days, even for a pimp.

how is that possible?

Take people, not classes. Butler and Schechter are the cream.

2L job search / Resources for firm info

I keep hearing the most important part of successful interviewing is showing that you know a lot about the firm. Does anyone have any tips on how to gather info on firms that would help one show they can distinguish Firm X from Firm Y. A lot of these huge multinational firms seem to be carbon copies of each other so I am having a hard time.

So bump...I got three dings today out of 13 bids... I am REALLY nervous now.

Does that mean you were selected for 10 interviews? also, top 10% at what type of school?

rohan, maybe you already stated this in one of your posts, but in what capacity do you interview lawyers? that is, what type of legal institution to you work for?

use of the word "irregardless"

and "over-exaggerate."

General Board / Re: Golf

lessons help. even if you can only take a handful of 30 minute lessons - as opposed to going to the driving range a few times and swinging away - it will make a big difference. the golf swing is highly technical, and while a natural athletic ability certainly helps, it doesn't go very far in golf.

i also don't think it is a good ole boys' game any more, either. everyone is playing these days thanks to tiger.

i guess the better question is how much time each one demands in a typical week? if i knew that, i could gauge better than anyone else what i am and am not capable of.
