LOL. Sorry. Just found out over lunch  ;D
I wonder if that would work? Their tuition costs are very similar. Hmmmmmm.
Worth a try I guess...

yes, it is worth a shot

Young lady, why haven't you posted in the Tulane scholarship thread about your scholarship?

Have you thought about e-mailing Wake about offering you money and using your Tulane money as leverage?

Choosing the Right Law School / Asking a school for more money...

I was offered 14k/year from SMU and 20k/year at Tulane. Since they are both similarly ranked, could I use Tulane's offer as leverage to get more money from SMU? Has anyone done this?

Truth be told, there is a HUGE difference in reputation.  If you do well at Cornell, you can pretty much go anywhere and do anything.  However, BU is still a great school, so in the end it comes down to your preferences.

Just don't try and believe that there is an insignificant difference in the reputation between the schools.

I missed your acceptance! Congrats. Has Bama gotten back to you? (Slow pokes) Where do you think you'll end up if you get the $$ you want from Tulane?

I got a similar offer. I am definitely conidering it....Big time. Decisions, decisions. I see you debating SMU and Tulane. I feel for you. I am having a tough time deciding. Good luck. BTW, have you visited? Any opinions, good or bad?

Yeah, it definately has made the decision harder, but in a good way!  By the way, did you use to post under a different name?  I remember a poster who had that exact same avatar.

While I have yet to hear from SMU, I do hope to get in there, and I have a comparable scholarship at Tulane and similar numbers. In other words, I may be facing a similar situation. It's a tough one--the money's comparble enugh that I might discount it here and just make my pick. Much of my family lives in New Orleans, but my girlfriend is from Texas--I will practice in the South, or at least the semi-south (VA/DC)--Tulane is def. more national, but SMU has Dallas sewed up and is probably better all over Texas though Tulane does well in Houston. As cities, New Orleans and Dallas are really different--N'awlins is probably a little bit cheaper to live in....It's a tricky one, but if you want to practice in Texas, I'd lean toward SMU...

Haha, your post illustrates just how many variables there are when deciding between two schools like these...

I am torn between these two options.  I probably will want to work in Texas, but I want to keep my options open (especially FL and the east coast).  While SMU has the Dallas market locked, Tulane seems much more National.  What do you guys think?

Interesting. I got 75% tuition at SMU and "only" $15,000 at Tulane.

That is interesting.  Numbers?

I was lucky with how much I recieved from Tulane.  This has been a very strange cycle for me.

A male. He sounded like he was reading off a computer screen and he said his instructions were not to give that info out over the phone. He was nice and all but DAMN IT! Now I am super curious! ;)

Try again later or tomorrow.  The person who told me about mine was a female.
