I lead my entire life like a racist joke.

Thales, mind deleting my quote from there?  I don't want any proof of my appalling racism.

Done.

But I've quoted this for posterity. :P

I've heard the 'you can bundle up when it's cold argument', but I still prefer heat.  I can't give a rationale why.  I think I'm just built for it.

The cholo within.

Incomplete. Fixt.

So after LOLing at that little addition I decided to research some Mexican jokes online, and I found this atrocity:

Quote
Aimara, a Mexican maid announced to her Boss Mr Blanco and his wife that she was quitting. When asked why, she replied, “I’m in the family way.”

The wife was totally surprised and shocked, and asked who it was.

The maid replied, “Your husband and your son.”

Mrs Blanco was mortified and demanded an explanation.

“Well,” Aimara explained, “I go to the library to clean it and your husband say, ‘You are in the way’. I go to the living room to clean and your son say ‘You are in my way’. So I’m in the family way and I quit.”

I've tried to come up with all manner of interpretations for this joke, but I don't get it. I think I'm missing some cultural reference or common stereotype. But right now it just looks like awkward/nonsensicial language.

Explanation?

I don't actually begin wearing a winter jacket until it's freezing (0 C).

But I hate the cold. I love hot weather. 105 F (40 C) isn't uncommon here either. The temperature ranges here are ridiculous.

Humidity sucks though.

I didn't realize that they made -33F.  I thought life couldn't survive in that weather.

According to some quick googling, "the lowest temperature ever recorded on earth (-129 °F) was at Vostok [Antarctica] on July 21, 1983." Just how bad would that suck?

That's almost a third of the way to absolute zero.

Yeah, this entire country is like the boreal tundra right now. I doubt anything short of microbial life could survive in this without the advent of human invention.

We're a bit spoiled in Toronto though, it's not quite freezing yet. Also, little to no snow. Calgary got slammed with like 5 feet a few days ago.

The weather is a little below seasonal here, but certainly not bad. Sunny and crisp.

Nothing like Calgary (which was -36 C, or -33 F before the windsheild). About 25 degrees below seasonal.
