Current Law Students / Re: Starting Over After 1L? At Worthless T3

Your career office probably keeps data from employment surveys.  You could ask them to remove the names of the students and give you a copy of where students in the 2L or 3L class are going this summer (or where recent alumni go).  Some schools provide this information for students, but it would at least give you a better idea of what the lay of the land looks like at your T3.  And if the list is only partial, you should assume that students who got the best jobs are most likely to report.

Wouldn't that be similar to a big corporation gig?  I think you should look at prestige as just one factor; obviously if you want to do the same practice area as the internship, then that's probably getting you good experience that will make you more marketable.

I agree that you should definitely know him.  But if he is your uncle or family member, it would actually be a great idea to get a letter from him as long as he said he was related in the letter.  Connections work! use your network.

If you have a big money prestigious job, then why do you care about earning a few bucks from an e-book and posting online.  It seems like the value of billable hours v posting online and hoping someone buys your e-book hours isn't favorable on balance.

I've already decided to split at this point between two firms.  I picked a smaller boutique and a larger regionally prestigious firm (pay is at biglaw rates for both).  They'll give me different practice areas and somewhat different geographic areas.  I'm not really worried about getting no-offered because I split especially not as a 1L.

It looks like it aggregates just general news -- nothing lawyerly about it.
