2LMan do you go to Duquesne or are you just throwing in your two cents without knowing what you're talking about?

1L job search / Applying for a clerkship before 1L?
« on: February 20, 2008, 03:54:25 PM »
I will be starting my first year as a part-timer this fall.  Is it worth a shot to be applying for a clerkship starting in the summer/fall without any law school background, or is that not recommended?  Also, if a writing sample is needed, what should I use since I have no legal writing supplements?  Personal statement? A college paper?  Thanks.

So overall, would you say you like it at St. Mary's?  What are some other pros/cons?  Does it have a nice campus, cool people, etc.?

I am not a minority, but I have solid work experience/resume and have overcome some obstacles.  I also am considering the part-time route.  What public schools do you have in mind?

Thanks again for your help by the way.

By the way my numbers are 152/3.22.  These numbers are usually lower than most public state schools that I've seen.

Good point, I didn't even consider that since I am from Virginia and all the good public VA schools are above my range.  I guess it's almost too late now though....

Duquesne U / General info

Just seeing if anyone could give me some general info on the school and Pittsburgh.  I was recently accepted (fall 08) and am considering between Duquesne and a couple other schools.  As of right now I am strongly leaning toward going to Duquesne.

-What is the curve like (I've heard it's brutal)?
-Are the professors good, bad, mixed?  Are they open and available to talk to?
-How is the Pittsburgh job market for grads?
-Is housing easy to get, close to the school and affordable?

Thanks in advance if you can answer any of these, I appreciate your help.
