If you are honestly looking at Yale, all that matters are GPA and an LSAT above 175.  Even then you have no guarantees.

Why do people constantly post the same thing over and over again?  Like it or not, Law School Admissions = LSAT + GPA.  Sure, there are exceptions, but generally they are few and far between at any reputable school.

I was assuming the OP had good LSAT+GPA. As you point out in your (somewhat contradictory) post, LSAT+GPA are no guarantee of admission at Yale, even though they're a good start. I imagine extracurriculars are the next most important factor.

I wouldn't really know, since the process seems to be so subjective (and dependent on what professor reads your file and what they're looking for in particular), but I'd think strong extracurricular involvement in something unusual would be a good thing. Of course, don't get involved in something just because you want to get into law school; do it because you really like it.

Umm...turn off the internet during class. I haven't been able to do it yet, but I'm pretty sure it would do wonders for my attention level.

I'm working at a great law firm

there are law firms in DC now?

on a serious note, how does 1LSAness affect your fall interview strategy?

on an unserious note, i'm neither Harvard or Yale and i'd like to know if you would be willing to give me a job.

I'm not sure how this will affect the fall OCI, honestly. I really like this place, and I'd love to come back if they give me an offer. I'm not sure if any other place could really top it, but I guess I'd take a look around at other firms for next summer, and maybe a few public interest places, if they'll take me. If not, I'd be perfectly happy to come back here, which reduces the job-finding stress significantly.

I'd be willing to give you a job. How good are you with cats? ;)

Wishing the next five weeks would fly by so I could be where I f-ing WANT to be.

And chewing gum.

Where do you want to be? And where are you? Remember, I've been away. I know little.

Blonde, hot, and awesome. As always. :P How're you?

You're blonde?

*le sigh*

Nonono, HD is blond. I'm a brunette. I'm not sure if that "le sigh" was good or bad, so...

I'm working at a great law firm, getting market rate in DC ($3100/week, though most of it gets deducted off my grants, sadly), and it's a job I got through Spring OCI (I got two firm offers and a couple of public interest jobs through that). I'm also splitting with a non-profit in California, which will be paying me like $250/week (this one I got on my own, just sending out my resume in late February).

So far, the firm's been awesome. There's three other 1Ls in the summer class, but they're all from Harvard/Yale, which confirms what everyone's been saying about how much school names matter (they didn't even ask me for a writing sample).
