I am leaning towards dell XPS just because it is light and small - I also liked Toshiba's new stuff, my sis just got one. I really love the Toshiba Protege too, but its a bit underpowered for what I want (though its the most ultra-portable computer out there).

well, yes...signing the MPN means you agree ot the terms of the u accept their loan offer. They would not send u an MPN, which also legally binds them, if they have not approved you for the loan....

once you sign the MPN you're in...these student loans are such pieces of cake, really, compared to real loans...

Financial Aid / Re: Loan Consolidation?

A friend and I were also debating this - I think the 3 percent consolidation rates now wont be in existance in 3 yrs. it would be more the 6 percent we see now for the gradplus with that auto debit thing (student loan xpress anyone?). STILL, i dont know if rates would be higher than 6.5 percent or what kind of programs might be offered. for 500 bucks i might take lower interest rate...

agreed. i know you did it, but its always good to check credit reports before doing this stuff  - then you're ready to argue with them when something goofy like this happens.

that should not happen - i mean, its done by SSN not just by name...still, depends on how they search and what idiots are doing it -

I love them! They have been very, very easy to get in contact with and have been super understanding as my law school kept changing how they wanted us to do our gradplus loans. They even called about something where they saw an issue - overall I rate them excellent, and the 6.5 percent isnt too bad either!

correct  - not everyone is slammed with a huge payment the day after graduation. pick a lender that jives with what you think your post ls plans will be. plan conservatively and hope for the best.
