« on: January 04, 2006, 03:36:25 PM »
Is it true that part time programs don't have to report their numbers?

I got accepted to baylor, UT, A&M (where I go), and Rice out of undergrad with pathetic SAT and ACT scores, based on just high school performance, and my writting ability.

I guess law school is much much different

Thanks as long as they get a look.  All I want is a fair shot.  Frankly I think that a low LSAT should be easier to explain away, if you have a high GPA from a tough and selective undergrad, but I know this is not true.  I mean basically you can "show up" one day in your life, and bet out someone who has worked hard for 5+ years in school and work, and messed up the LSAT.

So what you'll are saying is if my LSAT is like 3 points below the 25th percentile, I have no hope.  I feel they would really like me if they read my diversity statement Resume, LOR and Personal Statement I mean really like me.  However if they are not even going to read my stuff I don't want to waste like 500 dollars applying to these extreme reach schools.

still even if we move ahead of them they will then be the 4 seed and the only thing that will change is homecourt advantage

What sucks is b/c of the system we would have to play spurs in 2nd round.  We would be a 4 seed. Screw the system

Why then have some people on this board used the expression "Auto reject"

If a school has a 75th percentile LSAT of 167 and a 25th percentile of 163, just for example, then
still 25% of people get 162 or worse
are you saying that out of this 25% that like 75% have exactly a 162, and the rest are just URM's?

All things equal if the school is not quite as competitive you will do that much better.  Plus during an interview this could make you look strategic a good quality for the FBI.  You knew you wanted gov. which may not pay as much as a law firm so you opted for the full ride and no debt.  Coming out with debt=hard to work for govt. from a realistic perspective.

IF your GPA is at the 75th percentile how much below the 25th LSAT can you go.  I think I have as good as it can get on PS,LOR,resume, diversity statement.  All I want is a shot not to nec. get in.  I just want my app read.  If you fall 5, 10, or how many points below the schools LSAT will they at least not take my check and run.  I really don't want to waste money..
25% Native American, but def. not URM or anything

Thanks
