Went to a place called the Waterfront Ale House on Atlantic for lunch, then walked around that area for a bit.  I checked on here but you weren't around :)

I hope you had fun!  I have been to Waterfront Ale House a few times and it always seemed like a decent spot.  (I actually live a little farther out but I was at school today so I could have come out to see you.  Sad!)

Are you having a good time in my wonderful city?

Miss P, I believe I was in your hood earlier today

NO WAI!

You should have called or something!  What did you do out here?

Wait a second: you're not even in law school. All right, I'm done wasting time with some 0L that wants to teach me all about how the legal world works.

While I generally agree with you (and think vansondon's tantrum above is ridiculous), I don't see any reason why a 0L would necessarily know less about the hiring prospects of students at Cooley and MSU than a 1L at Chicago does. (And yes, vansondon, I understand that you are in law school; I am making a more general point.)  Neither of you is likely to have a lot of understanding of how the markets MSU and Cooley students enter work.  And neither do I, so I'll just go on instinct (and my experience looking for public sector jobs from a T2): I think vap has the best of this argument.

I just sent back my barbri books

I hope that wasn't a mistake

I just couldn't handle looking at them!  It has to be the right decision.  I figure I'll buy a set off of one of my procrastinating friends if it comes to that in November.

How good is this place? I have heard good things, but I'd like to hear from some more people...

I guess it depends what you mean by good.  There are a lot of very talented lawyers there and I am sure a lot of the work is interesting, but you end up having to fight against the little guy a lot (e.g., defending the city in police brutality, discrimination, and personal injury cases), the pay isn't fantastic, and the facilities are pretty broken down.

ION, what kind of female private part do you have to be to create some imaginary beef with someone on the internet, start a thread full of passive-aggressive insults toward her, and then lock the thread whenever you're offline?  All the while maintaining that you created the thread so that its posters "feel comfortable to discuss whatever they'd like, without the need to be concerned about what anyone else thinks."  I'm lifting my glass to you, Scentless!
