eta:  But I am taking a cab back this time.  I may not have mentioned this out of embarrassment before but I managed to get off at the wrong stop (with the right name...?) when I was there last and ended up wandering around for an hour before I gave up and found a cab.

Oh no!  You didn't!  You should have called me.

(I wish I could remember what stop you were supposed to go to so I could retrace your steps.  Fulton?)

Guys, can we talk about John Hughes for a sec?  Do you think he was a coke addict?  Why did this rich guy die of a heart attack so young?  I'm actually very sad about this.

He was very young indeed! It freaks me out!

I also value Ferris Bueller head and shoulders above the rest. I like the Breakfast Club okay, but I don't really get the hubbub over Pretty in Pink.

Ferris Bueller is one of my all-time favorite movies, but Breakfast Club was really serious business when I was in middle school.  Sixteen Candles is also pretty good in its own way.  Pretty In Pink and Some Kind of Wonderful (really the boy and girl versions of the same movie) were merely good for young teenagers at the time and grew old very fast.  The Pretty In Pink soundtrack was fairly important, though, as these things go.

Also: Mr. Mom!

Everyone tells me I'll love it.  Oh, except my therapist.  He was like, "Hmm. In my expert opinion, you would have loved it in your 20s, but now, you'll like it okay."  I don't really know what this means though!

FWIW, I think this is the way you're going to think you're supposed to feel, but you'll actually just end up loving it.

Therein lies the rub!

VB and Nav, I'm sorry that SA is being a male private part to you because he has a bone to pick with me.  That's not fair, and you don't deserve any of his rudeness (as he half-heartedly admitted).

Also, SA, it's kind of ironic that you feel you have to shut down your bastion of free speech whenever you're not around to monitor it.  But, you know, godspeed.

Seriously Miss P, your name should be Miss 1-up. We had an argument..and since then I've completely stayed away from you! Have I not??

Also, as far as the irony you've detected, I gave two explanations already in the post you MUST have read about my thread. It's only for active discussions. Also, I'm currently reconsidering my intentions for the thread. I said that already!!!

We didn't exactly have an argument.  I said my peace and moved on.  You started a thread in protest, which you started locking after I posted in it.  I don't have anything against you, but I do think you're acting like a real crybaby.  Swiping at VB and Nav, who are two of the nicest posters on here, was just ridiculous.

These are serious greatest hits.  We should make a digest version of SFLSD filled with such highlights.

ion, Miss P sorry I didn't make it over to Brooklyn today.  But I did have a nice conversation with a Mets fan at dinner and thought of you :)

I appreciate the thoughts!

My poor Mets.  Poor, poor Mets.  Was your friend dealing okay with this miserable season?

Wow, I have all of season 2 on demand for free.  I do not know what I have been doing.  Am I okay jumping right in?

Hmmm.... I think it really helps to have seen Season One. It's kind of a slow build with all the characters. I think more so than a lot of shows, it will not be as good if you haven't seen the first season. Still good, though!

I think this is true, but we will help you with whatever you need to know!  And there will still be a great deal of pleasure in watching Season One, I think.  I hope.
