Studying for the LSAT / Re: Can someone please post DEC 2003 scale?
« on: October 08, 2005, 12:57:00 AM »

I think it's more being miffed that the guy who scored in the upper range of the 172 didn't get an actual 173 or 174 instead, not so much that somebody who got an extra question wrong got the same score.

I don't think this is really what Ryan1_98 was saying, but I'll let him speak for himself.

I guess I still don't understand what you're saying.  Why does having two raw scores for a particular converted score make any difference, percentile-wise or otherwise?  There is very frequently more than one raw score (sometimes 4 or 5!) for a 180.  Do you think the people who got 101 or 100 on the LSAT really think their 180 is cheapened because the people who got 98 or 99 did as well?  I just don't get it.  People who score in this range should really have better things to worry about.  I'm just as stressed out as the rest of you are about this, but it's just a stupid test, not a mark of your honor or anything else!

Getting a 172 with a 93 seems perfectly fair.  What does it matter to them that people who missed an additional question got the same score?  I don't understand.

Actually, I think the monster movie bit was a response (my answer), not the stimulus.  I think the stimulus was something about people having real emotional responses to things they know to be fictional.  So I think the kid with the sister in the hospital was having a real emotional response to a situation he thought was real, but later learned to be false, while the kid watching the monster movie was scared by the monsters even though he knew they weren't real.
