Law School Applications / Re: Harvard 1Ls Taking Questions
« on: December 01, 2006, 07:50:30 PM »
I was recently accepted at Harvard and I was wondering if it is fairly easy to get a 1L summer gig at a Boston firm.  I won't have as much mobility in the summers since I have a family.

Also, what's in the binder that they're sending out to newly accepted students?

And, do you know of many/any non-trad female students with families?

there aren't too many married women with children that i know of but they do exist.  you should contact the harvard law couple's association to get in touch with people and hear what their take on it is: http://www.law.harvard.edu/students/orgs/couples/
they were pretty helpful when my husband and i were getting adjusted here and it seems like they provide a pretty good community for families, if they want it.  lots of get-togethers and shared knowledge, etc..
also, i live in the affiliated housing for couples/families and the families with children seem to really help each other out.  there's a community to be had here as well, and i can see how it might be refreshing to have some kind of network OUTSIDE of the law school.

good luck with your decision!

i'm in section 4, too.  i agree that it's the most awkward topic: "hey, are you on that website? oh, never mind."
panda, would it be possible for you to put those cleveland and mann exams up again?  of course i didn't get them the first time around.  it would be very lovely of you.

shoot.  i just found it:

Property/Section 4 & Section 6 (Mann)

The casebook for the course is Dukeminier, Krier, Alexander & Schill, Property (6th ed., Aspen, 2006).  For the first class on Tuesday, September 5, please read Pierson v. Post, pp. 17-21.

You may not use laptop computers in class.

So, all my mail for the last month or so is lost somewhere in the postal system, so I never received my section letter.  Could someone in section 4 tell me anything useful that was in the letter (specifically the reading assignment)?  Thanks!

The assignment is pages 1-15 & 25-40 for the first class (Thurs.) and pages 40-59 for Fri.  Thanks for digging up those old exams!

dw, which book is that assignment for? "Problems in Contracts Law?" i'm in the same boat. thanks!
