Employers generally pay you. Depending on the definition of employer, you could make the argument that anybody you're talking to about an unpaid position isn't an employer at all and therefore fair game.

15 cases per class would be ~3-4 minutes on each case, which is patently ridiculous. If you go through that many cases to learn the black letter law and expose the policy issues, your prof has no clue how to pick cases and probably shouldn't be teaching.
All of my classes we do 2 or 3 cases per class period max, and sometimes 1. Sometimes more than one class period dealing with the issues presented by a single case. 10-20 per class is off the charts stupid. 4

I didn't realize there was an entire book involved... Yea I dunno I just had dinner with my Aunt and she had a friend who started at SMU Law in '02 and they had her read a book, according to my Aunt. Who knows.. thats why I asked

When does this come out? I've heard they have people starting 1L read a book over the summer, but I haven't heard anything yet. When do they give out this assignment/tell us what book to read? And what is the book?

I've heard a lot of people haven't gotten their decisions from them yet - I'm sure you'll hear good news soon. According to the calendar at http://calendar.law.smu.edu/admissions/Lists/Admissions/calendar.aspx there's an admitted students day on the 20th of April. There's nothing on the calendar past May though, so there's probably some more that just haven't been added. 10
