Hey, in case you guys haven't seen it, there is new info posted about orientation on the DSL website:
I guess it may not be new, but it's the first I've seen it. It has the cases we'll be using during orientation.
I have a Dell laptop now and have had really good luck with it, although I've heard from many people that they haven't been too happy with theirs. I kind of want a new one for school but don't want to spend the $$ when the one I have now is working fine...so I think what I might do is see how mine works out first semester and go from there. I have OneNote (2003 version) and would like to get 2007 but figure I should do that at the same time as a new computer. I think I read someshere about a laptop loan or something but can't remember where I saw it. Did anyone else find the immunization link kind of crazy?? I kept trying to choose "prospective students" from the dropdown box and it went all crazy and never brought up the info. Then I chose "current students" but that just told me what immunizations you can get from PSU services not what is required.
I think I signed in to the chat at the tail end (no pun intended, haha!) of the dog bonding conversation.. It sounds like several people have dogs so I am excited to meet some other dogs that Cody might be able to play with. I didn't see any parks that allow dogs off leash. Anyone know if the local parks are pretty strict about that? I have a big yard now that I will be giving up (although my place has a small yard) and Cody LOVES to play ball, frisbee, etc....pretty hard to do if I have to keep him on a leash!
Thanks. If they had specific system requirements I guess they would be posted somewhere, although I might email IT just to double check. I guess the main thing I'm concerned about is using Macs with the exam software. If I get a Mac, I guess I could always keep my Dell laptop for exams.
Has anyone gotten info on computer specifications? I currently have a PC but am considering getting a new one or possibly a Mac. Does anyone know if Mac is supported? Anyone know about education discounts for certain brands of PCs? The IT section of the website required a login and I don't have mine yet. Thanks for any info/advice.
