General Board / Re: journals that publish articles written by students

As others have said, I'm on my school's flagship journal and we don't read student submitted articles

Before even thinking about applying to lawschool, I'd contact the state bar of whatever state you want to practice with and make sure you will be able to clear C&F with your arrest/mental history.

General Board / Re: irrational paranoia at top schools?

Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news (Most people that post on this site only want reassurance), but bottom 1/2 (or maybe even bottom 2/3, depending on the school) at a T25 will land you some pretty grim job prospects.

Employment Law - A
Conlaw II - A
Civ Pro II - A
Crim Pro - A
Secured Transactions - C+  ??? ??? ??? I hope this is a registrars error.

yikes. at least the a's will bring up teh gpa.

Yea yea I know a 3.7 GPA isn't anything to cry over, but this still lowers my overall GPA enough to edge me out of summa range....

More than that, I'm concerned because the office I'm summering at does about 60% Creditors Rights/BK stuff, and a C+ in a foundational course is a pretty bad black eye on my transcript.

The Examples and Explanations series sounds like what you are looking for.

General Board / Re: Multiple Study Groups?

Its all about finding out what works for you.  Personally, I can't stand study groups and do my studying on my own.  However, if you think study groups are beneficial/conducive to the way you learn, then by all means, utilize them!

I feel ya...  I made a half-hearted attempt at starting my ConlawII outline today... did like 3 page and then played videogames the rest of the day.  I cant imagine how much the apathy will increase by this time next year.

General Board / Re: Does briefing cases as a 1L = waste of time?
« on: August 22, 2007, 10:01:21 PM »
My advice:

If you feel like you are getting something out of briefing, then do it.

If you feel like you aren't, don't.

I stopped briefing after the first week of class and haven't looked back ;)
