I just want to take a 'lil time to disagree about the parking situation in San Fran.  It often can be HELL and it often can be expensive.  Of course, there are exceptions to every rule, but I have had a lot of experience trying to park in SF.  NIGHTMARES!!!  Literally there have been numerous times where it takes well over an hour to park.

My bf's sister lives in SF right now.  She made it from November to February on the same tank of gas because she lives and works there.  It is always better to take public transport than a car in the city.  Otherwise, you will spend way more time parking.  Of course, if you want to leave the city a lot, which is doubtful because you won't have much time to, then you'll need a car.  Keep in mind if you want to leave a couple times, you're better renting a car.  It is much cheaper than paying high insurance premiums, getting your car broken into, and trying to drive around the city.  (Yes, my car has been broken into twice in SF.)  Hell, everyone I know has had their car broken into in SF.  Just a couple thoughts

As far as the Europe question?  I am rocking to Italy in a couple weeks.  We'll ultimately end up in Prague.  I am stoked as I have never been.  My thoughts exactly...this is the time to do it.  As a heads up for anyone who wants to go...ticket prices are a nightmare.

Agreed on previous statements.

All I can say is that I am quite excited for school to start.

Before this point: work work work work
After this point: quit job, travel to Europe, see friends from home, go to law school.

Sounds good to me!

Yeah...I felt the same way about PLS.  Law school confidential I skimmed through...some interesting bits of info.  I would highly recommend this book though.  A must read BEFORE law school.

Has anyone else read this book? I am reading it right now and I have to is a must read.  It has excellent tips for strategically approaching law school exams.  It does a great job of brining shame to the IRAC method. Any thoughts?

Hollywood and the media machine are two very different entities.  Don't be confused.  Hollywood does traditionally lean left.  The media machine right now?  Painfully right.  The best example?  Michael Moore...very left, is trying to come out w/ his new movie Fahrenheit 911.  Mirimax, a subsidiary of Disney, was going to distribute the film.  Disney, which oddly now leans right refuses to distributed the film even though they know it will do well.  Why?  Florida Bush told Disney they would pull their tax breaks in Florida if Disney distributes the film.  Of course, every other frickin' country in the world has found a distributor for the movie.  (Look how "free" we are now.)  Meanwhile, conversative lawyers are suing because they want it so a political film cannot come out in an election year.

I would say this is an excellent example of the difference between Hollywood/left and media machine/right.

I think I am going to look at the Haight, Sunset, North Beach, or Russian many interesting areas to choose from!  I really hope this housing day thing pans out.  I have to assume at least a couple of folks will be looking for roomies like me.  I talked to a 1L at admit day...she said this is how she found her roommate.  Should be interesting!

One thing for you all to consider w/ the districts you pick...there is a big difference in the weather from one area to the next.  I *&^% you not!   :)  The fog rolls over SF and some areas are perpetually lingering in clouds/fog.  North Beach, for example, is often a lot more sunny than the Presidio or the Marina.  I am originally from the of humidity, snow, rain, and crap weather.  San Fran definitely has its own weird micro-climates.  I personally don't care about how the weather will be...I assume my face will be in a case book anyways!   :-[

Yeah...the girl who doesn't like to read really was struggling on her LSAT prep.  Shocker!

There are so many folks that just roll to law school w/o giving any thought to it.  There is some amazing stat that something like 80% of people enter law school thinking they will go into some sort of public service law.  Then, they graduate, feel the hurt of their loans, and go corporate.

I mean, seriously, why can't people conceptualize this earlier?  I, for one, have no problem picturing the hurt of $100K debt.
