PDs and DAs are not as into pedigree as firms.  They care more about demeanor and whether they like you.  They'll take a 3d Tier grad with a personality over a Harvard JD anyday.

I'm in law school in Florida, looking in Atlanta (my hometown).  Its not a matter of connections, I've got connections, but they won't hire law students until they pass the bar.

Above is good, plus I would create a theme of the case and start playing on the juries minds.  Its true that you cannot argue the case in opening, but the jury will almost certainly make up their minds on the verdict during the opening statement.  Come up with a theme of the case and revisit it after opening.

What do you mean?  Job search?  If so, its pretty rough out there right now.

...One downside to getting one of those jobs right out of law school is that they generally don't hire until you have your bar results.  That was his experience, so I want to warn you.  He had to take a job he hated for a while until he could get hired on as a PD...

This is a huge problem I'm finding.  I'm looking into DA's offices right now and they won't even talk to me without the bar license.

60 firms is nothing - I have a great class standing, and I sent out nearly 250 resumes (not including OCI). I sent out resumes to the American Law Top 200 firms and a ton of small/medium size firms, as well as sole practitioners. You have to cast your net MUCH wider, and consider relocating, too.

I actually have a classmate who is at the bottom of my class, and just started personally calling graduates of our school who work at smaller firms. Somehow, the girl got five offers. Sometimes, you have to just pound the pavement and get aggressive.

How can you afford the postage for that?

That's only like $100

Are you sure its only $40k.  I researched South Florida a while back and I thought it was higher than that, though I can't remember the exact number.

And, no, you cannot live in Miami on $40.  You will have to commute in.

Get LEEWS.

Most likely your problem is with exam taking/writing technique rather than substantive preparation.
