I'm in a similar position. My original plan was to locate potential roommates using LLS's roommate finder service, but I haven't had much luck with it so far.

General Board / Re: Patent Law Interview Program
« on: April 14, 2006, 01:50:47 PM »

A registration deadline? I was not aware such a deadline existed now that the test is commercially available through Prometric. Am I wrong?

he was referring to the deadline for the interview program.  there is no deadline for the patent bar, though usually a prometric center in a given city will only offer it once or twice a month.  Once you apply to the USPTO, they will give you a 3 month deadline to take the test when your application is approved.  I had to travel to Gainesville because the last time Tallahassee offered it was two weeks before the end of my deadline, and I needed the extra two weeks.

Thanks for the clarification. How long did it take for them to approve your application to take the test?

and to sit fot he patent bar, you dont actually have to be a lawyer, just have the technical background, and im pretty sure the deadline passed, but there are 1800 people going to look for work, that seems a little daunting, granted there are between 100 and 150 employers, and i suppose this includes 2l and 3ls and possibly graduates, ill be more than happy if i land say 4 interviews, but to get these interviews, everything is based off of 1st semester grades, nothing like one semester to point you out on what trail you might go down

Do UCs give points for in-state applicants or to those that got their undergraduate degree from a UC?

Acceptances / Re: GW?
« on: February 02, 2006, 12:33:06 PM »
I think there are people on LSN who say both for my date... there aren't very many PT people there, there are some PT people on 1/25 and there are some FT (or people who said they were FT) on 1/25, I think that's when I heard.

oh well, it's not a super biggie to me, either way... I'll let them help me decide what to do with my life if that ends up being where I go (I can always stick with my job PT or something for at least a year), it's all good :)

Either way, congrats. Thanks for the well wishes!

You all need to relax. Waiting for a decision is much more agonizing than waiting for an admissions packet. :)

Show me some love, GW.

Acceptances / Re: In at George Washington

so all, does good news (for my purposes accept/WL) come strictly via web and bad news come snail mail?  or is it mixed?  does it vary from FT t PT?

I'm fairly certain, for GW, that email equals acceptance and snailmail is either WL/rejection.

CONGRATS TO ALL!

I'm just stalking the thread cause I am in th enext batch of notices.

Complete:  I never got a notice (called yesterday and found out my app was in committee).

FT v. PT: You can do both.  Not sure if you are able to check both on the app, but they will consider for PT if you don't get in FT (if you indicate yo'd be interested).  I'm guessing it is FT if they don't specify, but call jus to be sure.  Congrats again! :)

I feel your anxiety. People who applied +/- 1 day as me have already gotten responses (good and bad), so, of course, my immediate assumption is to expect an unfortunate letter in the mail. This process is so random. :)

My app is with the committee (I called today)

She said they should be sending out decisions in about two weeks for those of us who applied in mid-late Nov.

HTH

Damn. Another two weeks. Thanks for the update and good luck to you all.
