Maybe I misread what you said. When you asked if it's better to submit a personalized recommendation to your top choice school, I thought you meant personalized to that school. I guess you were just asking whether the professor should stick the words "X law school" somewhere in the recommendation letter? If so, don't do it - it's not going to help any if the professor has no ties to the school, and like you said, if it does not mention the school by its name you can use it for other schools.

However, not sure if simply an additional letter of recommendation will make a big difference setting you apart from other applicants. Though still worth it if your professor can write a really glowing letter.

I would say go with a school-specific recommendation letter if you can get one - i.e., the professor is an alumni or a guest lecturer at your top choice law school, etc. This is your time to set yourself apart from other non-autoadmits. While a general letter may be more convenient, if this is trully your top choice you should make some effort to seek out someone with a connection to the school who will say you are a good fit.

Is there an option to have an interview with the admission advisors? That might be a good way to show your interest and dedication (provided it's not a cross-country trip for you).

As far as 2nd letter of continued interest - if you don't have anything new to say, I wouldn't do it. How about writing an application update letter - this is what I've been doing since I've applied - new volunteering projects, publications, school grades, etc., etc. This gives them additional reasons to change their mind and accept you

Do you know anyone who's gotten into UT with 25% numbers? What kind of extras did they have? UT is my dream school, but I'm afraid I don't have much of a chance to get in. I have some good soft factors but judging by LSN there weren't any non-URMs with my LSAT score ever admitted. Do you think I have a shot?

Just call them and let them know that you've made a mistake in filling out the forms and request to send them updated copies to replace the originals. Most schools will either replace or include them in you file. If you'd like you can write a short note explaining what you just said in your post.

I wouldn't stress about it - I'm sure adcoms see it every day.
