I think the Access Group offers a loan for international students with a competitive interest rate, so long as you have good credit and 3 year credit record (at the NU ASW there was a presentation by them).

Maybe Vandy's dean will sign for me? I have a good credit score but not great (750, a few iffy things a few years ago), so while I'm definitely going to try for loans, I may not get them. Which makes NU very tempting. If only UT would match Vandy and make the choice easy for me!!! I should find out by the end of the week. And redacted, I agree, it's a good problem to have, but it's still making the next two weeks very stressful. I'm leaning towards putting down two deposits, even though we don't have the money.
