General Board / I'm just here for the Westlaw & Lexis points.
« on: January 31, 2007, 12:17:26 PM »
As I sit here in property class checking how many Lexis & Westlaw points I might tally up by graduation, I wonder what the best thing any law student has ever gotten with these points during the typical 3 years of law school.

Or, are there any hidden good deals in the Westlaw or Lexis shops?

I heard the 500 pt. Westlaw leather binder is a solid deal.

Houston / Professor Leslie Griffin?
« on: August 18, 2006, 10:59:02 PM »
Professor Griffin is visiting at my school this semester, and I was wondering if anybody can tell me anything about her teaching style, personality, exam preference, etc.

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

General Board / Opinions on Microsoft's OneNote
« on: July 21, 2006, 06:18:05 PM »
I have heard mixed reviews on OneNote, but overall it seems like a good program. Is it as handy as it sounds for law school and does anyone know of a place to find it for less than a hundred bucks?

General Board / GW over Alabama with instate tuition, a mistake?
« on: July 21, 2006, 05:24:15 PM »
After narrowing it down to GW and Alabama, I have within the past month made the choice to attend GW over Alabama with instate tuition. I don't know but only recently has the sticker shock set in. As far as location goes, I know DC will be a lot better for me than Tuscaloosa. I also like the career placement stats on GW better. However, I still have lingering questions about whether the extra $100k in debt will be worth it.

. . . and yes, I know that second guessing myself now is not healthy.

I've heard from some current GWLS 3Ls that a large percentage of firms in DC view GW grads on par with Georgetown, due to the fact there are a larger number of grads from GWLS working in DC than any of any other law school. Just wondering if this is accurate.
