so i received my financial aid package and realized I need to borrow $$$ in private loans. Can I apply before deciding where to attend, just to see if I qualify? Would the resulting credit inquiry hurt my credit score and make it harder to reapply later if I needed to?

I'll be there around 1 pm or so. Probably hang around the hotel with my luggage until they let me check in.

I would assume any merit aid will be taken into account when calculating need-based aid, so getting a scholarship would definitely lower the amount of need-based grants you might receive, but it wouldn't preclude you from federal loans.

Sounds like everyone's going to the first one, not a bad idea given that deposits are due at a lot of schools by the end of March.
Those of you who've already registered, what's up with 3-day accomodations? Is anyone planning on staying saturday night?
speaking of batteries, anyone know how long they last before you have to replace them? I've gone through two lithium ions on my Thinkpad, which kinda irritates me (they supposed have a certain number of charge times before dying).
