U of Texas - Austin / Re: Societies

Do we not join a society that those who started in 2004 joined? I assumed that there were just a set number that they added new first years to as they enrolled.

Oh.  And a fire drill just started.   :P
You say that like it's a bad thing. I love diversions.

How are you this morning?
This morning was awesome, temps were in the low 60s, low humidity, the Town Lake running trail wasn't very crowded, and I felt better than I have in awhile after running the 4 mile loop.

Are you the one with your finger in your nose or the one with your tongue hanging out?
I'm the tounge hanger-outer. The one with his finger in his nose is my roommate. We were both drunk when that picture was taken. Good times.

he still has to transfer in (i think?), so it'd be next semester or year... unless i'm reading that wrong
I'm reading that as attempting to transfer in for the fall semester, but I could be wrong.

But if anyone reads this and needs a place to live, feel free to PM me as well.

hey guys,

I'm hoping to transfer app is in their hands as we speak...

Looking for a high quality apt complex that is a short drive in to class - any ideas? (I'm looking at paying 700-900 for a small one bedroom)...

Is the barton creek area too far away?

Any info would be appreciated...

I'm actually still looking for a third roommate for my house, which is a short drive away from the law school and right on the shuttle that drops off and picks up in front of the law school. If you wouldn't mind sharing a place with a law student, a grad student, and two dogs that wold be about half what you mentioned there, send me a PM.

U of Texas - Austin / Austin Happy Hour on Thursday
« on: June 27, 2006, 08:42:31 PM »
I'm trying to get the word out as much as possible, and I've already posted the details on facebook and the freshlaw boards as well.

The next Austin Happy Hour, for those of you who can make it, will be this Thursday, June 29th, at Little Woodrow's (520 West 6th Street). I'll be getting there around 6pm or a little earlier, and I'll try to get a table that's easy to see. According to their website, Happy Hour only lasts until 7, but I"ve been assured that even after Happy Hour prices aren't that expensive.

If you want to know what I look like so that you can recognize me once you get there, just go look at my profile on facebook (it's not hard to figure out who I am, my name is Ian and I started the UT Law '09 group).

I've been here since... well, officially August of 1993, though the lease began in June.

Christ, I was starting grad school while you were in third grade, Brave?
Don't feel bad Tony, I was in 4th grade then, so you aren't THAT old.  ;)

I'm here.  It'll be six years in August.  The summer I moved, it was 113 over labor day and I thought I'd died and gone to heaven.  I don't like the cold.
Most people would think they went the other direction if they felt that kind of heat.

And when did you get here? I suppose you can also say when you'll be getting to Austin if you aren't lucky enough to have made the move yet.

I'm here, been here since 2001 (aside from vacations and a semester in DC).
