What are the practical differences? Which one is better? I currently go to a school that uses ALWD, will I be confused if I am forced to use a Bluebook at some point?

Most schools will put 95% emphasis on law school grades, a few are known to looking at LSAT/UGPA.

don't forget you can get in-state tuition at UVA after one year....assuming you are out of state.

I am also looking at Vandy and attend a T4, I contacted admissions and they said they were planning on taking 25-30 transfers. Didn't give me much more info than that.

I don't have any practical experience, but from what I've read on these boards if you do JAG then you aren't very marketable to firms once your commitment is over.

I read all these fairy tale stories on here about the person with the 2.0 GPA first semester who made straight A's the rest of law school. Anyone have an opposite story, did anyone do really well first semester and then do horrible the next semester. I'm starting to get sick of all the people at my school saying how if you made dean's list this time that you probably won't next semester because it switches around, blah blah. Are they just making themselves feels better or is there some truth to it? I can't decide if the people who did poor last semester are going to give up and slack off or really pump it up making it harder for me to stay at the top of the class. Comments?

General Board / Re: JD vs MD« on: January 29, 2007, 11:13:06 PM »For job security go with MD, there is no way you can be w/o a job when you finish your residency, even coming from a bottom ranking med school. Unless you get into a top law school, MD trumps JD in terms of earning. Plus if you accidentally chop an arm off of a patient that came in for a hangnail, you can always just pack up and move to a different state fresh! |
