well i just got a call from them out of the blue today. i never sent my dean's certification and was honestly looking elsewhere bc i had gotten into some other schools. then today they call me offering me admission. the issue is that i was basically set on going to Miami. i now have to decide on brooklyn on monday...without having visited them first. tough.

there's some bug in their order software or whatever. so a lot of the orders from the 9th to the 23rd are messed up. something about a missing part or whatever. so those who ordered after us are getting their laptops sooner. my shipping date is still june 11th and hasnt changed. but im worried since i ordered with the meyers EPP thing so mine may not even ship. but it still says "in process" so there is hope.

[/quote] I agree with you 100%, coming to Miami I expected so much more by the way everyone talks about it. But i failed to realize that the people that are so amazed with Miami come from places like Michigan, or Deleware or other places where the the weather is not all that or where there is not much to do. For us who are from the Bay or Ca, it's really not all that. In fact in my opinion, I don't think there is a better place to be than Ca, but that's just my opinion. I'm here b/c I want to experience something new, don't get me wrong, the campus is beautiful but it's really not better than the Bay in my opinion. I was homesick the first day I was out here. [/quote] pretty much sums it up. so i guess we can expect some sort of rebel bay area crew at UM that will always complain about the humidity and 90 degree summer weather. haha. i was actually really homesick in my first year of undergrad at michigan. the main difference was that i knew that i would return home upon graduation. for law school, i likely won't return home for good until maybe 5 years after graduation. so yeah, i will probably move to coral gables early enough so that i can adjust to the humidity and homesickness. haha. 37

General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Re: Lenovo vs. thoseotherguys« on: June 02, 2007, 05:48:58 PM »well i ordered my thinkpad on the 23rd with the EPP employee discount...and the rumor is that those orders will be canceled. well it's not a rumor. some people who used the employee purchase program have had their orders canceled. check notebookreview.com and read some of the threads in the deals subforum...and the lenovo one too. they posted emails from lenovo saying their order was canceled. i ordered one this way and i am worried that my order might get canceled. 40

 i havent gotten a cancellation email from lenovo yet--but i expect one. my order status still hasnt changed though and it says my laptop is set to ship on the 11th, so i dunno.
