Am I the only one who chose the combination lockers ? I did so because (a) I'm worried I'll lose the key, and (b) The idea of having so many books that I need the "Larger" lockers makes me emotionally shut down and give up.

There's a used furniture store near UT that will do mattresses for a much more reasonable price than those listed here:
http://www.austinfurniture.net/814422.html You can get a quees-sized mattress and boxsping in their "high quality" catagory for $370. I haven't seen them yet, but this is probably what I'm going to do. I don't knwo about you guys, but $600 feels like lot to spend on a bed. 35

I'm receiving the "George Rice Scholarship." anyone know who this is? From googling it, I think he may be a Texas environmentalist.

The upstate NY chatter is making me miss it... mmmm Finger Lakes wines (Weimer Reisling makes life worth living). I went to Cornell (Ithaca) for undergrad, and the rents there were just about what they are in Austin.
But back to the OP, I got my scholarship note letter this week and I live in Tampa, so Houston folk should have gotten their letters by now, IMO. As for getting scholarships, I got mine by requesting a matching scholarship from another school. People told me that the matching scholarships were only for scholarships given from higher-ranked schools, but I put in a request for matching funds offered by a school ranked in the mid-20s in USNWR. UT gave me a tiny bit less than the other school, but UT will still be cheaper because of the lower tuition  .Anyway, happy letter-writing! 38

Just got mine too... actually, I think UT has been more on top of this than other law schools. I had deposits at Notre Dame and UT, and ND just sent out information about PLUS loans now. They didnt' include PLUS loans in their original aid packages.
UT is doing a pretty sweet job, IMO. |
