General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Laptop« on: July 27, 2007, 06:04:50 PM »
Does anyone have any suggestions for a affordable but reliable laptop. I'm starting at BLS and they recommend a think pad and the price range is $1200 and up I willing to dish out the cash but if I could find something that will do the job for a cheaper price why not save the money? Any suggestions are welcomed.

I was just wondering if anyone had any information about how the scholarship amount is calculated. I received a notice advising me of my award but the amounts range between $1000-5000 the department of ed was pretty vague about how the actual figure is determined.

Supposedly the status checker let's you know if your in review and even if it goes into a second review. I'm not sure if it gives a decision, but mines is still at complete even though the admission office told me my app was in review.

I figured I have a good shot with them based on LSN my numbers seemed on target (162/3.3/URM) but who knows just shoot me now  My girlfriend got in last cycle with a 154/3.5. The status checker gets updated like every two weeks.... I hate this process.

I haven't heard not a peep from any other schools. And I'm having daily panic attacks. I spoke with Cardozo and they said I should hear back by Mar 15th. Brooklyn keeps sending me shyt everything but an acceptance.
Fordham is notoriously slow a girlfriend of mine said their admissions process is dreadful.I spoke with an admission counselor today and even though they had my app since 12/21 she told me I would have an answer 6-8 weeks from the second week of FEB I mean WTF?? NYU and CLS haven't rejected me yet so heres hoping. 7

 I already live in NYC (brooklyn) and I plan on staying here throughout law school. I'll be studio hunting sometime in May/June cause I'm pretty sure I don't want a roomate. Anyhow I was thinking of getting another dog to keep my baby girl company ... she is terribly spoiled and I'm afraid she'll be alone too much. She's no maintinence at all, 3 lbs fully paper trained lapdog thats's not a barker. I'm afraid a second pup will be more hassel than relief especially because I've always wanted a bigger more active pup. Any thoughts from the multi dog/pet owners. 8

Thank You...Yeah I'm still waiting on every other school I applied to, Fordham, Brooklyn,Cardozo, NYU... I never received an email though. I just got a USP priority mail package with a Tee Shirt rolled up in an acceptance ribbon. |
