Congratulations to each of you that were admitted. I just graduated from Columbia in May 05' with my LL.M. and I truly hope your experiences will be as rewarding as I found mine. But for the expensive New York City, Columbia's program is simply awesome. For those of you that didn't get admitted into your schools of choice, there is always 06'. Don't give up.

The answer is "no." There isn't an ABA law school that will accept you without a B.A. degree at the time of entry into law school. Some schools will accept you while you are a senior with the expectation that you will have earned the BA prior to starting law school by finished up law credits during the summer. But schools normally do that only for very talented students with very high GPAs. Your best option is to finish your BA and apply. A non ABA approved law school woud only be a waste of money because no one will hire you.

If your GPA is around 3.5 or above and you have a great Personal Statement, you might get into a 4th tier school. I happen to know several people that got it with 140 scores at ABA accredited law schools, but they had stellar GPA's. They just didnt take the LSAT seriously or have good standardized test taking skills.

The LL.M. is the Master at Law degree. The JSD or SJD, depending on which school attended, is the Doctor of Juridical Science. It is the highest degree offered in the legal profession. Z
No, most LL.Ms dont aspire to obtain the JSD. In fact, less than 5% of all LL.M's shoot for the JSD. As far as lar firms are concerned, prestige and qualifications will determine salary. If you have a LL.M from Columbia, which is considered as having the best LL.M. program, or Harvard, NYU or Yale, your LL.M should make a difference in your salary. Also, if you earned a LL.M from a less prestigious school in a complex field like tax or IP, then it should make a difference. LL.Ms are mostly useful for future law professors, specialty law practitioners, and foreign trained lawyers. 5

BarBri is the best bar review course on the market. Plenty of foreign trained lawyers have huge success with BarBri. I highly recommend it.
