I really want to go there. What to do? Should I apply twice?

Law School Admissions / How would you interpret this adcomm email?

Dear xxxx,

In reviewing your application I have noted that we are still missing a faculty letter of recommendation.  Because you are still in school or have only recently graduated, both recommendations must be from professors who have taught you.  Please contact another recommender who has taught you and have one sent at your earliest convenience.  Please contact our office with any questions.

xxxxxx Law School Admissions

I read it and it says...we'll admit you as soon as we get another letter from you. We're dying to admit you!

Am I nuts?

My 2nd LOR just came in and so far LSAC has sent it out to 40% of my schools...why don't they just send it out to all schools at once?

Law School Admissions / Woohoooo! My 2nd LOR finally came in!

Now I can finally start going complete. What a ridiculous ordeal this was...almost 2 months after I asked for these recs. Let this be a lesson to all of you applying next year--ask for these things like a year in advance--professors live in a time warp. If you haven't asked them yet it may be too late.

Law School Admissions / I need advice on my Gtown app...
« on: January 17, 2006, 05:19:09 PM »
Ok, so Gtown only requires 1 LOR, but I could send more if I want. My LSDAS report has been sent to them (including 1 LOR). Gtown has all of my app materials, but I just haven't been processed as "complete" yet. I could go complete any minute, and judging from LSN, would probably have a decision in a week or two once that happens.
My 2nd LOR has yet to be received by LSAC. This rec is written my a professor I had during a semester in DC--and may point out how I took advantage and thrived in a DC academic environment.
So, my question is, should I hold up my Gtown app and have this rec sent to them once it comes in? According to LSN I am a borderline candidate at Gtown(3.5, 169), and I'm wondering if you think this 2nd LOR could make a crucial difference--or if waiting the extra weeks to get that in Gtown's hands would hurt my prospects more than this DC-centric LOR would help me.

Any opinions?

Welcome. Commiserate. This is a lonely place.

Studying for the LSAT / What would Vince Young get on the LSAT?

Sorry, I'm just trying to feel better about losing to Texas, and this question has been burning away at me.

I say 132.

What is the deal with this show? I'm watching my first episode tonight. It feels like it is the first episode, but I don't think it is...I'm confused. It started off with the plane crashing, but I'm guessing this is just a flashback filling in details? Is it worth catching up on?

Ok here's the deal... Pick the date for when I receive my letter of admittance to G'town and you win ten dollars from me.

Some background info: LSAC just sent my report to them today (1/06) and I should be complete as soon as they receive it.

The rules:
1. One date per person.
2. Once a date is chosen, no one else can pick that date.
3. Obviously, it would be stupid to pick a Sunday, as there is no mail delivery that day.
4. Contest is void if I am denied. If I receive a deferral, all picks are void and everyone can pick a new date.

Have at it. I'll start: my pick is January 26.
