Current Law Students / Re: Outlining - when and how to do it?
« on: September 02, 2007, 06:35:16 AM »
to me outlining was a way to study for the final- the ACT of doing it was how i studied, and of course having one document at the end to review was awesome as well.  I started in end of Oct and that worked well for me. i ended up acdtually outlining my outline b/c it was way too long and  the act of doing that was a fabulous way of going through my outline.  i even forgot to bring the finished document at the end to the final but it was more the doing it that mattered then the finished product.

I've already had 2 experiences of starting to get bummed from not hearing from a firm when they contactd me 4-5 days after the initial interview.  i think sometimes it can be slow during OCI time b/c they may go to a variety of schools within the same week in the same area as your school

Job Search / Re: Scheduling Callback
« on: August 31, 2007, 12:01:09 PM »
while i agree you should schedule them as soon as possible, sometimes I have found it hard to schedule any before the last week of sept. this is due to the fact i have OCI interviews almost every day and all my callbacks except for 2 are in another state (The state I wish to practice in).  I have my first few scheduled for the first week of sept, but they go all the way to sept. 24.  in fact, 2 firms i JUST had interviews with said that they were booked till the third week of sept already!! and this was not my fault just do the fact we JUST did OCI at my school. in fact OCI is still going on and I have one screening interview sept. 25

therefore, i dont think the last week of sept is THAT late.  although i agree with scheduling them as soon as you can!

I got most of my callbacks right away, but a few firms told met hey were gonna take at least a week or 2. these were the smaller firms (mid sized firms)

« on: August 22, 2007, 04:48:42 PM »
i am also concerned about this particular question.  i went on some screening interviews last week and have yet to hear back ANYTHING.  im assuming that if i had a callback i would have heard by now (considering i already have some callbacks and the firm called within the next couple of days).  how bad a sign is it if i haven't heard anything yet?
